In 2016, I set out to collect the urban calligraphies I found on my travels, abandoned papers, lost lists, forgotten letters, with the idea of finding a way to musicalize our urbanities, songs of the real.
One evening, leaving my studio near the Maximilian Park in Brussels, then a gathering place for emergency refugees and citizen solidarity in Brussels, I discovered this paper.
Like a notepad from a live French course, based on the translations of a daily newspaper of the emergency, it was a testimony. An improbable witness of the reality of a Syrian refugee family facing the crisis they had fled.

En 2016, je me suis en quête de récolter les calligraphies urbaines que je trouvais au hasard de mes déplacements, Papiers abandonnés, listes perdues, lettres oubliées, dans l'idée de trouver une manière de musicaliser nos urbanités, des chansons du réel.
Un soir, sortant de mon studio près du parc Maximilien à Bruxelles, alors lieu de rassemblement des réfugiés de l'urgence et des solidarités citoyennes bruxelloises, je découvris ce papier.
Tel un bloc note d'un cours de français sur le vif, basé sur les traductions d'un quotidien de l'urgent, il était un témoignage. Un témoin improbable du réel d'une famille de réfugiés syriens face à la crise qu'ils avaient fui.
